Match 1: Sultai 2-0
Game 1:
Game 2:
Not much happened both games. Apparently my opponent was playing 26 lands, 14 spells. I fixed his deck afterwards.
Match 2: Abzan 1-0
Game 1:
I won the game thanks to Crippling Chill + Waterwhirl.
Game 2:
This game gets grinded out due to my opponent getting Ainok Bond-Kin and Abzan Battle Priest. I end up not finding red mana until super late, and I chump block my Efreeti Weaponmaster (morphed) with Ghostfire blade on his 5/4 Abzan Battle Priest, because I forgot it had first strike.
My opponent got up to 48 life, and I was down to 8 life. Waterwhirl + Feat of Resistance + my own Abzan Battle Priest + Mistfire Weaver do tons of work in helping me stabilize. The game ends in turns, and I win the match.
Match 3: Sultai 2-0
Game 1:
I punt by attacking into a morph with a 4/5 Mardu Warchief (equipped with Ghostfire Blade). His morph was Pine Walker, which sucked for me. I still end up winning the game, but it was rough.
Game 2:
I punt this game by playing Mistfire Weaver and equipping with Ghostfire Blade, leaving me with only 2 mana. So he's able to cast Set Adrift on my Mistfire Weaver, setting me back. I should have just left up 3 mana so I could make it hexproof.
I ended up winning the game off Deflecting Palm on his Meandering Towershell for lethal. SolebushBoom.
Match 4: Mardu 1-2
Game 1:
I keep a slowish hand, with a couple turn 3 plays. I get overrun by creatures.
Game 2:
I end up tempoing him out. Ghostfire Blade + Feat of Resistance (in response to Arc Lightning) does work.
Specifically, what happened is that he played Arc Lightnining dealing 1 damage to Jeskai Windscout and 2 damage to my Morph, I played Feat of Resistance on my morph, making it a 3/3 with pro-red, and making my Jeskai Windscout a 3/2 flyer.
Game 3:
I mull to 6, my opponent mulls to 5 (on the play). He plays turn 1 Bloodsoaked Champion. My turn 1 play is Ghostfire Blade. Turn 3 I play a Mardu Warchief, which keeps back his Bloodsoaked Champion.
Then he plays a couple Mardu Hateblades, and for some reason I think I need to hang back and trade with them, instead of racing in the air with my Jeskai Windscouts + Ghostfire Blade. Mardu Warchief was holding back his 2/1's, I shouldn't have worried about his 1/1 death touchers. Instead I decided I needed to trade with them. o.o
I make a mistake in this match, playing Monestary Flock as a 2/2 Morph, then equipping Ghostfire Blade to it (for value) making it a 4/4. My opponent plays Smite the Monstrous on it, then I realize I'm tapped out of blue mana so I can't flip my guy, to make it a 2/7 in response. That pretty much results in me losing the game.
Also I needed to sideboard out Rush of Battle for Take up Arms or Barrage of Boulders. Actually I think Barrage of Boulders seems good against a deck with a bunch of x/1's. He didn't show the hateblades in the previous two games, though.
