11/25/14 Current MTG want list

2 Cryptic Command
4 Scapeshift
1 Tarmogoyf
1 Windswept Heath
1 Noble Hierarch
1 Linvala, Keeper of Silence

Maybe:
2 Arid Mesa
3 Lightning Helix
1 Village Bell-ringer  (common)

2 Pyroclasm (uncommon)
2 Stony Silence
1 Echoing Truth (common)
1 or 2 Sorin, Solemn Visitor

Don't really want to buy any more standard staples (expensive cards).  Kinda wish I had drafted more painlands when M15 drafts were available.  They went from 2 bucks to 7 bucks.  :(

11/21/14 The Definition of Insanity, KTK draft 2-0-1

I got four hours of sleep the previous night, because I was stressed out because my Tarmogoyf got pilfered at Anime Imports.  I went to a draft at Gamescape North, anyways.

P1P1:  Rakshasa Deathdealer.

P2P1:  Rare was Meandering Towershell, but I took Sandsteppe Citadel.

P3P1:  Rare was Deflecting Palm.

My deck was kinda poor, with the only win conditions being 2 Alabaster Kirin.

http://tappedout.net/mtg-decks/2014-11-21-ktk-draft-deck/

Match 1:   Sultai stuff

Game 1:

I win off Rakshasa Deathdealer into Sultai Flayer into Pine Walker.

Game 2:

I lose to Swarm of Bloodflies and removal spells.

Game 3:

I win because of creature beatdown, again.

Match 2:  5 color

Game 1:

Abzan Guide + Become Immense = GG, especially once I also play Kin-Tree Invocation post combat to make a 10/10 Spirit Warrior.

Game 2:

Lose because I'm stuck with three white cards in hand (Ainok Bond-Kin, Kill Shot, Alabaster Kirin) and none of my six white sources.

Game 3:

He plays a turn 2 Archer's Parapet in his 5 color deck.

Game goes to time.  Sigh.  Now I can't win the promo card.

If I had an extra turn I could beat him with Dazzling Ramparts to tap down two of his guys (assuming he didn't play another blocker).

I might have punted the turn I attacked with my Sultai Flayer and my morphed Woolly Loxodon.  And then I decided to play a Pine Walker instead of flipping the Woolly Loxodon, then he played Bring Low on the Loxodon.   But I think it didn't matter because the judge called time (begin extra turns) when I played Pine Walker.

Match 3:   Mardu stuff (2-0)

I got paired up.  I had 1 win, 1 draw.  I played against a guy with 2 wins.

Game 1:

I win off Pine Walker and Woolly Loxodon.  It doesn't even matter that I forget to play Woolly Loxodon as a morph turn 4.  Woops.

Game 2.

I go down to 4 life thanks to Act of Treason + Unyielding Krumar with Molting Snakeskin and Ride Down.  But I eventually stabilize and CRUSH.

Result:  2 wins, 1 draw.  4 packs and no promo card, even though I beat the only undefeated person in my draft pod.  Booo.

11/20/14 I should have stayed home, 0-3 Modern

I decided to play Yiwen Song midrange.

Match 1:  Affinity (1-2)

Game 1:

My opponent plays a turn 3 Ensoul Artifact on Darksteel Citadel, and I go to 5 life, but somehow I manage to turn the game around and win.  Despite the fact that he has Spell Pierce for my first Cryptic Command.

Game 2:

He played a Signal Pest into Cranial Plating.  I played a 5/6 Tarmogoyf.  He played a second Cranial Plating, and I said "sure" which he interpreted as that resolves.  I wanted to Mana Leak but he said it was too late.  I was like uggg.  Of course I can''t deal with taking 10 damage from his double Cranial Plating, so I concede.

Game 3:

He plays double Etched Champion with metalcraft, into double Arcbound Ravager.  Easy game easy life.

My opponent offered to write down that I won the match, but I told him I don't care.  I take my loss in stride.

Match 2:    Jund (0-2)

Game 1:

Lost to a turn 2 Bob that gains him 5 cards in advantage.  Yeah.

Game 2:

Kept a 2 lander on the play, he plays a Fulminator Mage and I proceed to not draw a 3rd land until I'm at 7 life and have to play Threads of Disloyalty on his Tarmogoyf (untapped).  Of course, he has Abrupt Decay and I lose.

Match 3:  Birthing Pod (1-2)

It was fated that I would play against my friend, again.  Of course, this time I was playing a deck that was softer to Birthing Pod, than G/R tron was.

Game 1:

He plays a turn 5 Archangel of Thune, with Spellskite backup.

I try to play a Snapcaster Mage into Forked Bolt into Lightning Bolt to kill his Spellskite, but I mistap my mana, so I scoop in shame.

Game 2:

Won off Blood Moon.

Game 3:

Lost to the Spike Feeder + Archangel of Thune infinite Combo.  I killed the Spike Feeder with Electrolyze (he removed 2 counters in response of course).  Then he played Reveilark.  Which I knew he could just return his Spike Feeder to play with it.  I played Anger of the Gods killing his Reveillark and two other creatures.  I probably should have just waited until I could draw Relic of Progenitus, so I could clear away his graveyard with Spike Feeder.  Of course, he plays Archangel of Thune next turn, and I scoop.   Relic of Progenitus was the next draw in my deck.

Result:  0-3

I am pretty frustrated now.

11/15/14 Late Modern (2-1)

I stayed up super late again.   I had 6 hours sleep on Tuesday night, 6 hours sleep on Wednesday Night, 6 hours sleep on Thursday night, then 5 hours sleep on Friday night.  Ugh.  Despite that, I went to a Modern tournament at Anime Imports.  I was originally going to play UR Delver, but audibled into G/R Tron.

http://tappedout.net/mtg-decks/17-11-14-gr-tron/

Match 1:  Pod (1-2)

Game 1:

He played turn 2 birthing pod, but turn 4 Oblivion Stone + activate into turn 5 Karn = win.

Game 2:

Opponent played turn 2 Birthing Pod again, and  I lost to turn 2 Fulminator Mage.

Game 3:

Opponent had Fulminator Mage again.

I was at 17 life with Karn in play, he topdecked Gavony Township, pumped his team, swung at me for 12.   Lost to double fulminator mage into Kataki, War's Wage. Next turn I could play Ulamog and go to 2 (if I exiled a creature with Karn) but I don't think I would ripping out of that.   So I conceded prematurely

Match 2:  Bye

I played some games of standard during my bye.

Match 3:   Pod (2-1)

Game 1:

He has turn 1 Viscera Seer, turn 3 Kitchen Finks.

I play a Forest turn 1, so I can play Ancient Stirrings.  Then I start Assembling the Tron with Mine into Sylvan Scrying for Tower next turn.   Then I drew a Power Plant for turn 4 Tron + Karn.

I try to exile his Kitchen Finks with Karn, then he sacs it to Viscera Seer.  Oops.  I could have won the game if I just made him exile a card instead.

Game 2:

I lose to Birthing Pod + creature beatdown, as I can't draw any Pyroclasm or Oblivion Stone, or blocking creatures.  I also got stuck on no green mana which hurt, plus my opponent play Aven Mindcensor to shut down my Eye of Ugin.

Game 3:

Turn 1 Chromatic Star into Turn 2 Spellskite into Turn 3 Tron + Karn.

On the other hand my opponent plays a Noble Hierarch into a Reclamation Sage targeting my Star (thanks!).  I play a turn 3 Karn, followed by a turn 4 Pyroclasm to wipe out Noble Hierarch and Reclamation Sage = value.  He plays an Aven Mindcensor which I exile with Karn.  Then I play an Oblivion Stone and put a fate counter on Karn.  Next turn I play a Wurmcoil Engine, which my opponent doesn't block with his Viscera Seer.    I exile his lands until he's down to just 1 Verdant Catacombs, and he scoops.  There's no way he can come back at this point.

Result:  2-1

I picked up a Vedalken Shackles with my store credit.

11/14/14 Late standard report (1-2)

I took a half day off from work on Friday.  I left for Anime Imports, but it turned out there was a bunch of traffic, so I made a right turn to go to Versus Games instead for their 4 pm standard.  The 4 pm Standard tournament was kinda low (5 people until I got there with two friends).  The draft had 7 people.  I thought about leaving the standard to draft instead, but that would have left the standard tournament with 7 people.

This is the deck I played:
http://tappedout.net/mtg-decks/2014-11-08-jeskai-windowscleaner/

Match 1:  Jeskai Ascendancy/Tempo hybrid (2-1)

Game 1:

I barely win this game thanks to all my burn spells keeping his Seekers of the Way under control, even though he had Jeskai Ascendancy online.

Game 2:

Lose to Disdainful Stroke and End Hostilities, plus Seeker of the Way beatdown + burn.

Game 3:

I win this game because my opponent gets stuck on 2 lands for a few turns, and I had turn 3 Brimaz. I burn away his first Seeker of the Way.  Then I punt here, when I attack with Brimaz, and have Brimaz + two tokens attacking.  I decide to hold up mana to use Devouring Light on his Seeker of the Way.after blocks.   I could have played Mantis Rider, and just used Mantis Rider + tokens to convoke Devouring Light after blocks.

Match 2:    Abzan Midrange (0-2)

Game 1:

Opponent's playing maindeck Drown in Sorrows in Abzan, kills my Hushwing Gryff.

Lost to Reaper of the Wilds + Elspeth

Game 2:

This game lasted a bit longer, but ultimately I still ended losing to double Courser + double Siege Rhino.

Match 3: G/b devotion (0-2)

Game 1:

I thought I had this game, but multiple Courser of Kruphix into Hornet Queen meant I died.

Game 2:

Turn 4 Whip with no answer on my part, was pretty bad news.

I punted here.  Had my opponent down to 6. She attacked with a Courser of Kruphix, which would gain her 2 life.  I had the choice to Stoke the Flames her, or Stoke the Flames the Courser.  I stoked the Courser.  Of course, then I topdeck a mountain to play the Stormbreath Dragon in my hand, which eats a Hero's Downfall.  I top an End Hostilities, but due to card advantage from Eidolon of Blossoms + Courser of Kruphix, I can't win.

Result:  1-2

A frustrating tournament for me.   I lost to Abzan which was fine, because I was an underdog there. But I lost to G/b devotion which is normally a good matchup for me.

11/9/14 I Forgot to Remember to Forget (KTK draft 1-2, 0-1-1 drop)

I went to Versus Games today for the Ivan Jen celebration party.  I also joined a couple of drafts:

FIRST DRAFT

P1P1:  Rare was Deflecting Palm.  Eww.

P2P1:  Siege Rhino for boyksVALUE.
P3P1:  See the Unwritten.

Somehow Mer-Ek Nightblade wheels in pack 3.  Wow.

DECK:
http://tappedout.net/mtg-decks/2014-11-09-ktk-draft-deck-1/

Match 1:  4 color stuff (2-0)

This was the guy who crushed me during one of the Journey to Nyx prerelease matches.

Game 1:

I get Trail of Mystery into ferocious See the Unwritten and Incremental Growth.  All the VALUE.

Game 2:

I play Secret Plans and draw a bunch of cards.  Yay.

Match 2:  4 color better stuff (0-2)

This is the guy who crushed me last week with 5 color Jeskai Ascendancy + Take Up Arms + Hordeling Outburst. Gahhh.

Game 1:

Lose to nut draw of Ainok Bond-kin into Tusk-Guard Captain into double Mardu Warshrieker and a morph.  Of course my opponent also has Ghostfire Blade.

Game 2:

Lost to nut draw again.  Turn 1 Ghostfire Blade is good.

Match 3:  BW warriors (1-2)

Game 1:

End up losing to Warrior aggro with Raider's Spoils.

Game 2:

Opponent scoops to Trail of Mystery + Secret Plans card drawing combo.  Not sure why.

Game 3:

Opponent casts Utter End on my Trail of Mystery.   I end up losing to Raider's Spoils again.

SECOND DRAFT

P1P1:   Howl of the Horde was the rare.  I took Pine Walker.

P1P2:  I took Chief of the Edge over Armament Corps.

P1P6:   Mardu-Heart Piercer.  How does this happen?

P1P7:  Feat of Resistance.

P2P1:   Flying Crane Technique was the rare.  I think I took Salt Road Patrol.  It was a terrible pack for me.

P2P2:  I got passed Necropolis Fiend, even though this card is pretty bad for a rare.

P3P1:   I took Mardu Roughrider over Grim Haruspex.  Grim Haruspex is good, but it doesn't proc off token deaths, which is annoying.  Perhaps I should have taken the Grim Haruspex.

Deck:
http://tappedout.net/mtg-decks/2014-11-09-ktk-draft-deck-2/

I probably should have dropped my black cards, and shifted into red/white splashing blue, or red/blue splashing white.  Unfortunately I wasn't seeing much of the good payoff cards in pack 1.

Match 1:  Abzan (1-1 draw)

Game 1:

I play turn 1 Mardu Hateblade.  My opponent plays an Archer's Parapet.   Next turn, when I attack with my Hateblade, my opponent blocks with the Parapet, and I pay for deathtouch.

My opponent plays turn 3 Rakshasa Deathdealer, I play Debilitating Injury.

Game 2:

My opponent plays turn 2 Rakshasa Deathdealer, but decides to be passive.  It doesn't matter, because the game ends up in a huge board stall.  I manage to get him down to 4 life with Rush of Battle attack, then attack him down to 2 with an Alabaster Kirin.  He removes the Alabaster Kirin with Savage Punch.  Then he stabilizes at 2 life.  I forget I have Ruthless Ripper face down, and play out a Necropolis Fiend without flipping the Ruthless Ripper.  :(

Then next turn, he swings with his team, and I block in such a way that I die to his Master of Pearls that was face down.  Fuck me.

I was at 13 life.  He swung with his team, I made a bunch of blocks, left my Necrpolis Fiend and Ruthless Ripper (face down) out of blocks.  I left Fiend back in case of pump so it wouldn't die.  In case he top decked a removal for Fiend post combat, I left Ripper back in case I actually topdecked another black card so I could finish him off.  So he hit me with 2 dudes, who I thought had 3 power apiece.  I accounted for double ping with Archer's Parapet for 2 dmg, but because of Raiders Spoils and Master of Pearls, they went up to 6 power apiece.  I should have just chumped with the Ruthless Ripper since my chance of topdecking a black card was slim at that point.

The worst part is that the kid's dad was hovering over the entire match.   Once I lost the dad was all haughty about it.  I had played against the dad a few months ago and he was a known complainer/whiner.  What is it with dads who complain/whine about Magic?

It also didn't help that the kid put all his lands in ONE stack on top of each other.

Game 3:

The game ends up as a draw.  Fuck.

Match 2:  Five color good stuff (1-1 draw)

Game 1:

I managed to barely win this game after going down to 1 life.  It was a ridiculous slog though.

Game 2:

I lost this game due to using my removal sheepishly, and lost to Avalanche Tusker into Icy Blast my team for lethal.

Game 3:

I go turn 1 Mardu Hateblade into turn 2 Chief of the Edge.  A Force Away and Arc Lightning lets my opponent stabilize at 9.

I almost had my opponent dead with Ponyback Brigade, Disowned Ancestor, and Rush of Battle.  Unfortunately he has Icy Blast for the first Rush, and Temur Charm for the second Rush.
The game goes to turns, and he plays Sage of the Inward Eye into Taigam's Scheming to gain 3 life from attacking with Shambling Attendants.   The game goes to turns and I concede, since I already have 1 draw, and getting 2 draws means I likely won't win any prizes, even if I got 1 win and 2 draws, but he's got 1 win already.

11/7/14 KTKcraft: Sultai War (FNM KTK draft 3-0)

There was more traffic than normal.  I ended up not getting to Gamescape North until 5:45 p.m.  The store was packed with 41 people.

P1P1:  Bloodstained Mire over Mer-ek Nightblade.

P2P1:  Sarkhan, the Dragonspeaker over Abzan Falconer.  At least I'm passing the insane outlast guy the other way.

P3P1:   Bellowing Saddlebrute over Hardened Scales.

http://tappedout.net/mtg-decks/2014-11-07-pjsalt-ai-draft/

Round 1:  Jeskai (2-1)

Game 1:

Played a Villanous Wealth for 6, my opponent played End Hostilties afterwards.  However, he then flooded out, and died.

Game 2:

Played into End Hostilities, lost two Archer's Parapet, a (morphed) Abomination of Gudul, and a Swarm of Bloodflies.  Proceeded to die to Mardu Hordechief and Riverwheel Aerialists.

Game 3:

Opponent used End Hostilities, trading two Hordechiefs and his End Hostilities for four of my creatures.   That sucked.  He played a Monastery Flock (face up). I played a Sultai Scavenger.   I put Debilitating Injury on his Flock pre-combat (mistake).  Then he Crippling Chill'd my Scavenger.  Eventually we both go into topdeck mode, and I play Villainous Wealth for 9.  My opponent scoops on the spot.

Round 2:  Mardu (1-0)

Game 1:

My opponent gets me down to 2 life because of Mardu Roughrider, Chief of the Edge and Mardu Ascendancy.  He also plays Molting Snakeskin on a 1/1 warrior token.  He showed me a bunch of burn (Arc Lightning, Arrow Storm) so I needed to finish him soon.  He sac's two Goblin tokens to Dead Drop.  He's got a Warrir token with Molting Snakeskin on it, then plays a Unyielding Krumar.   I'm attacking cautiously with just Abomination of Gudul, leaving my Woolly Loxodon and Sagu Archer on defense.  I'm trying to not die, but I know he might have other burn in his deck.  Then I filter all the way to Villainous Wealth (thanks to my Abomination of Gudul) and Villainous Wealth him for 9, revealing a 1/1, a 2/2, and a 3/3.  I forget to use the Warshieker raid trigger to cast the morph in my hand (Sagu Archer).  I Erase his Molting Snakeskin (not that it really matter) then swing in my with team for lethal.

Game 2:

I have a turn 1 play (Disowned Ancestor) and my opponent's first play is Mardu Hordechief.

My opponent plays Mardu Ascendancy and Mardu Roughrider again.  I double block his Rough Rider with my 2/6 Disowned Ancestor and Sagu Archer.  He hits me for 9 with his Warshieker, Unyielding Krumar, and 3 Goblin tokens.  But then I stabilize with Hooded Hydra and Archer's Parapet.  Then the game goes to turns, and I stall for the win.

Round 3:   Abzan (2-0)

Game 1:

My opener is Villainous Wealth and Woolly Loxodon and 5 lands.   I mull to 6, get a much better hand.  End up drawing Villainous Wealth again anyways.   My opponent only plays a Archer's Parapet.  My Hooded Hydra + Bellowing Saddlebrute make quick work of him.  Debilitating Injury post combat finishes off his Parapet.

Game 2:

My opponent mulls to 6, but plays turn 1 Hardened Scales into turn 4 Salt Road Patrol then turn 5 Abzan Falconer.  He's also got three Feat of Resistance, Armament Corps, Mer-Ek Nightblade, and a Dragonscale Boon.   Thanks to some timely uses of removal, I manage to navigate through all the 4/9's and 11/12's.

One turn I attack with Bellowing Saddlebrute into his Abzan Falconer (4/5) and Armament Corp (4/4).  He blocks only with the Falconer.  I follow up with a Debilitating Injury.    I don't know why he didn't block with both creatures.

Result:  3-0 (6-1 in games)

Only got five booster packs instead of the usual six booster packs.   Apparently because there were five draft pods, and six people who went 3-0.   So six people got five booster packs, instead of five people getting six booster packs.

Sunday, November 2, 2014

11/2/14 Lazy Sunday KTK drafts (1-2, 1-2)

I had a slight headache.  I went to Versus Games to draft at 1 pm and 4 pm.

Draft 1:

P1P1:  Abzan Battle Priest over Jeskai Ascendancy.

P2P1:  Murderous Cut over Howl of the Horde.

P3P1:   Took some card over Mardu Ascendancy.

Passed a couple of kill shots.  Passed one Kill Shot for Woolly Loxodon, passed the other Kill Shot for mana fixing.

http://tappedout.net/mtg-decks/2014-11-02-ktk-draft-deck-1/

Person on my right was Abzan.   Person on his right was also Abzan.  wtf.   Person on my left was Temur.

Match 1:  5 color Jeskai Ascendancy

Game 1:

Lost to Jeskai Ascendancy and Feat of Resistance and Hordeling Outburst.  Sweet.

Game 2:

Lost to Jeskai Ascendandy and Feat of Resistance and Take Up Arms and Ride Down. Sweet.

Match 2:   Temur (2-0)

Game 1:

I blow my opponent out when he goes for Savage Punch on my Abzan Battle Priest, because I play Smite the Monstrous to kill his Alpine Grizzly.  He plays Icy Blast with Ferocious but I still win.

Game 2:

He plays Icy Blast with Ferocious but I still win.  I have Abzan Battle Priest and Ainok Bond-kin and Armament Corps and Abzan Guide.  boyksValue

Match 3:  Abzan splash red (2-1)

Game 1:

This game gets kinda grindy but I manage to win thanks to 7/7 Kin-Tree Invocation token and 6/7 Woolly Loxodon, and Dragonscale Boon for lethal when I swing out.

Game 2:

Lost to turn 3 Tuskguard Captain into turn 4 Brave the Sands.  My opening was just way too slow.

Game 3:

I got punished for playing Murderous Cut on my opponent's Woolly Loxodon EOT.  I should have waited until my turn, and used Rite of the Serpent to kill it.  Then my opponent played Rush of Battle into Become Immense when I blocked his Krumar Bond-kin with my 4/3 Ainok Bond-kin, so he gained 19 life because he attacked with his Krumar Bond-kin and Bellowing Saddlebrute.   That sucked.  Of course he kills me with Crater's Claw when he's at 19 life.  I think he would have been dead if I had saved Murderous Cut in response to Become Immense.

Result:  1-2

The salt is real. Fortunately, the first draft ended right just as the draft 2 started.

Draft 2:

P1P1:  Took Ghostfire Blade over Mardu Charm and Hordeling Outburst.

P1P2:   Got passed Flying Crane Technique.

P2P1:   Passed Villainous Wealth.

P3P1:  Took Ride Down over Narset.

http://tappedout.net/mtg-decks/2014-11-02-ktk-draft-deck-2/

Match 1:   Jeskai (1-2)

Played against the same guy from Match 3 last draft.

Game 1:

My opponent has a TON of tricks (double Temur Charm, and Winterflame) and kills me with Crater's Claw.

Game 2:

Win even though it was still a close game, thanks to Ghostfire Blade and Ride Down and Waterwhirl.

Game 3:

Lost to Crater's Claw, when I had him DOB next turn.  Gah.

Update:   I realize I punted during one of these games, when I had face-down Mystic of the Hidden Way and face-down Glacial Stalker in hand.  I equipped Ghostfire Blade to my face-down Glacial Stalker, and he popped a Scaldkin.  I had mana to flip up my Glacial Stalker in response, but I didn't, probably because I forgot Glacial Stalker costs 5 to flip.

Match 2:  Jeskai (2-0)

Game 1:

My opponent has turn 2 Jeskai Elder and all the tricks.  Of course, I eventually manage to outclass his guys with my creatures.

Game 2:

This game was a lost closer.  With my opponent playing turn 2 Jeskai Elder again, and then turn 6 Riverwheel Aerialists.  Using Set Adrift, Waterwhirl, and Treasure Cruise into Force Away and Flying Crane Technique, I win.

Match 3:  Temur (1-2)

Game 1:

Kept a 1 lander on a mull to 6, proceed to die because I can't draw two more lands.  I should have mulled to 5 IMO.

Game 2:

Won thanks to flyers.   I bounced his guy with Force Away in response to Savage Punch, and time walked him.

Game 3:

Lost to Dragonscale Boon and Burn Away and double Hordeling Outburst.

10/31/14 3spooky5me Halloween standard and DKA/INN/INN draft (1-2, 2-0-1)

Gamescape North wasn't doing anything on Halloween, so I went over to Anime Imports to play in the standard, then got dinner before going to the Innistrad draft.

I played Jeskai aggro again.

http://tappedout.net/mtg-decks/2014-10-31-jeskai-windowscleaner/

Match 1:  Sultai control (1-2)

Game 1:

Mulled to 5, didn't draw a 3rd land until turn 10.  So I lost.

Game 2:

Burned my opponent out, but it was close.
Game 3:

Lost to Feed the Clan, plus DOUBLE negate.  If I topdecked a burn spell I could have still killed him.  Died to Polukranos + Raksasha Deathdealer.

Match 2:    Jeskai heroic ascendancy (2-1)

Game 1:

Lost to Jeskai Ascendancy + a swarm of tokens from Launch the Fleet and Akroan Crusader.

Game 2:

Had Banishing Light for Jeskai Ascendancy this time, and killed him with double Seeker, then Rabblemaster, and Arc Lightning for the win.

Game 3:

My opponent made like 8 tokens, but I was trading damage with him, and I killed him with Stoke the Flame into Jeskai Charm.

Match 3:  Naya good stuff (1-2)

Game 1:

I kill my opponent with Mantis Rider and burn spells, like I'm supposed to.

Game 2:

My opponent plays Wingmate Roc and Stormbreath Dragon, I lose. He gains way too much life off his attacks.

Game 3:

My opponent plays double Stormbreath Dragon, and Wingmate Roc.  I lose.   If I had topdecked a burn spell I would have won (he was at 3 life).

Result:  1-2

$4 store credit

DKA/INN/INN draft

P1P1:  Thalia, Guardian of Thraben over Drogskol Captain

P2P1:  Moorland Haunt

P3P1:   Battleground Geist over  Back from the Brink.

http://tappedout.net/mtg-decks/2014-10-31-dkainninn-draft/

Person on my right dropped out of the draft before the first match even began.  He wanted to join a KTK draft that was firing.  Person on my left appeared to be in black/red.

Match 1:  Sultai good stuff (1-1 draw)

Game 1:

Mull to 4, lose to Grimgrin.

Game 2:

Win off double Battleground Geist.

Game 3:

I get blown out by Thalia trading with Abbatoir Ghoul, then my opponent playing Woodland Sleuth.  Tricksy.

Match tied, because my opponent plays Spider Spawning and flashes it back.  Ugh.

Match 2:  Azorious stuff (2-1)

Game 1:

Win with flyers

Game 2:

 Lost this game

Game 3:

Win with flyers again

Match 3:    RG wolves (2-1)

Game 1:

Opponent got color screwed apparently.

Game 2:

I lose to Instigator Gang.

Game 3:

This game gets a bit grindy, with my opponent playing turn 3 Elder of Laurels, and turn 4 Orchard Spirit.  I ultimately win thanks to flyers/bounce spells.

Result:  2-1

I split the third round, so I ended up with $12 store credit from that

I spent 29 dollars on tournaments, 41 dollars on food.  Got $16 store credit out of the deal.   Not exactly a good trade, but I was entertained for roughly 6 hours.
